Starting the Weight Loss Plan

Ok the moment I have been dreading ever since I took the pictures. I have three before pictures front, side and rear view….I am not liable for any ill effects caused by looking at the pictures. You have been warned!!!

So here are the starting stats for me:

Age: 37
Weight: 160lbs
Height: 5’2

Measurements:
Chest: 36″
Waist: 37 1/2″
Hips: 42″
Neck: 14″
Calf: 16″
Bicep: 14″

My plan is simple. Lose 35 pounds in 2 months. That equates to losing an average of 4.35 pounds a week. Goal start date May 28, 2010…goal end date July 22, 2010.

I first determined my daily calorie burn, which is 2640 calories. That is the amount of calories I burn just doing my daily routine in 24 hours. Sleeping, eating, working and so on.

I took stock of how many calories I eat in a day…rough estimate because I am way to lazy to count every calorie I put in my mouth. That number is approximately 1750 calories. I will keep a log on the refrigerator to write down what I eat each day and input it on a log here on the site. Don’t be surprised when you see things like fried foods, white breads, meat, pasta, butter dishes and so on. I won’t change my diet. I just want to lose weight, I am not on a mission to change my habits and be a healthy eater right now.

Now all the diets out there will tell you that burning 2640 calories and only eating 1750 calories will result in weight loss however that is not the case.

My body needs a minimum of 2640 calories to function at 100% and since I am not giving my body that, my little brain has learned to pack away stores of fat and lower production of all my other bodily functions and organs. Essentially, my brain thinks I could starve so it is taking steps to prevent that from happening. I am not gaining weight but I am not losing weight either.

So now I am going to start a weekly plan to retrain my little brain and eat the calories I need to function at 100% so I can start to lose weight. I will explain this in more detail in the next few articles on Diet and Exercise.

I said the other day that my appetite is gone, I have been getting sick more, I am not sleeping well and my balance is crazy off and this would be the reason why. My brain is slowing down production and storing fat to keep me from starving myself to death. I need to correct this by giving my body the calories it requires first and foremost by EATING MORE!!!!

I will also be adding some “exercise” to my daily routine but remember I am lazy so it will only be 15 minutes a day…I am too busy (lazy) to do more than that right now.

So I am going to eat more, crazy I know eating while you are trying to lose weight and move a little more than I normally do. I am not going to be dieting or eating healthly foods or counting every calorie to the exact nor will I be doing any heavy exercising.

For the skeptics out there, I will lose the weight that I have no doubt about and just so there is proof here are the before pictures…in two months the after pictures will be sooooo much easier to look at.

I don’t intend to do a daily update or report in the main blog. I am setting up a page under the Diet section that will track exactly what I do each day and how things are progressing if you want to follow along. I am hoping by the end the two months the weight I lose will peak the interest of others who need to lose weight and maybe give them a new way that will help them be able to lose weight they haven’t been able to lose. A way that doesn’t require them to deprive themselves of food or try to find massive amounts of time to exercise. I don’t use diet pills or any special tricks. I simply give my body the calories it needs and I exercise a little to build up some muscle tone.

Grrr…ok the pictures..I have been avoiding this but I really can’t think of anything else to write.
